Type: Red, sweet. Long ageing, vin de liqueur

Alcohol Volume: 15% vol

Grape varieties: Mavrodaphne (51%), black Corinthian (49%)

Vineyard: Defined zone of Mavrodaphne Patras (A.O.C) (north and northwest of Patras) and county of Achaia.

Yield: 1200 kg.

Harvest: End of  August-Early September for Mavro-daphne. Second half of August for Black Corinthian

Winemaking: According to the traditional way of fortified sweet wine. Winemaking for each grape variety and arrest of alcoholic fermentation by adding grape-derived alcohol.

Ageing: 12 months in oak barrels (225)

Characteristics: Dark amber color with brown hues. On the nose, an intense dark fruit bouquet of blackberry and blueberry, followed by sweet aromas of dried figs and plums. Great body weight, full mid-palate balanced by acidity, this wine remains one of the flagship wines of Achaia Clauss winery.

Accompanied with: Serving at 12-14 ℃
Mavrodapne of Patras is perfect as aperitif, best served with roasted almonds and dry fruits. As a dessert wine it is best served with fruits, yellow cheese, ice-cream, sweets and chocolate.
